I was a bit hesitate to watch it at first, but I gave it a try. It's quite decent for a "low"* budget movie. Some notable points:

- At the core, it is a coming of age story. The main character is the boy, a young hunter who tried to prove to his family that he can be a capable adult (then he came across the president of USA and some stuff blew up).
- The action doesn't kick off immediately. The five or so minutes as the beginning might bore those with short attention span.
- Sam Jackson is hilarious. But don't expect him to kick ass or anything.
- The main villain gave a good performer.
- The physics at some action parts might bother you a bit if you're picky, but it doesn't go beyond the realm of common movie physics.
- A minor point, but Germany, where the movie was filmed, has gorgeous scenery.

Overall it's a pretty fun movie. It has a bit of 90s action movie vibe to it (as in it's not overly serious like some movies nowadays). I have a feeling that if you like 90s movies like Speed, True Lies, etc you might like Big Game. Youngsters in the 10-14 age range would love it!

My rating: 6,75/10
