Gen's ref

Alright, new and updated ref for Gen. Blacker, bluer and violeter! Some of you might remember this being drew on the live streams the other day.


Bio:

Name: Genevieve Spindelon (Gen, Genna or Vivie for short)

Age: 28

DOB: August 21

Height: 1.6 m (5' 3")

Species: Aranean (spider-people, yeah I made that up)

Home country: Aranealum, the country of Araneans

Occupation: World-renowned fashion designer.

Notable features: The lower half of her body resembles some kind of bug, covered with shiny exoskeleton except for the feet. She has two pairs of eyes - one human-like, one spider-like; two pairs of arms - one normal, one small; and two pairs of legs - one bigger and one smaller. Her blood is blue, having hemocyanin instead of hemoglobin.

Look: Gen usually dresses in elegant, classic style. She prefers darker colors and up-do hairstyles. She likes pearl and amethyst jewelry. For make-up, she uses purple and blue eye shadow, blue blush and either translucent lip gloss or darker blue lipstick.

Family: Gen has a big family. Her parent, her six other siblings and some unsorted relatives lives in a big mansion.

History: Gen came from a high class family in the far away country of Aranealum. Her country is land-locked but has beautiful forests, hills and all kinds of bizarre plants and fungus, which built her love for nature. Her parents are well-known artists and critics, therefore she was well educated and encouraged to follow her interest of fashion-designing since young. When she was 14 Gen started to make a name for herself by winning a national contest, and she had never stopped since. She is now stationed in Paris. She spends several months in a year traveling the world, meeting strange new species in exotic lands. Her current goal is to release new fashion collections inspired by unusual creatures.

Other: Gen has both indoskeleton and exoskeleton. Her exoskeleton has metal atoms dispersed throughout, mainly copper, magnesium, iron and zinc. The metals accumulate each time the she molts, meaning that the older she gets the harder her exoskeleton becomes. Gen molts every few years or when her exoskeleton is damaged.

Dislikes:
- Weak-willed and shallow people
- One wasp, two wasps, big wasp, small wasp
- Really dirty and smelly toilets

Fears:
- Ants: She has an irrational fear of ants getting in the joints between her leg parts and eating her from the inside out. It likes how we afraid of monsters in the dark even though we know there are nothing there.
-Drowning: Gen isn’t exactly build for swimming. She usually takes a safe distance from bodies of water deep enough to drown her.

Personality:

Gen is confident, independence and knowledgeable. Due to her upbringing, she has high standard about art (literature, food, music, etc) and is a bit wary of human. In her country female is the dominant gender, so she has a mindset of viewing males as the weaker gender that needs protection (though she knows this isn’t the case in human culture). She is flexible, but dislikes routine tasks. While otherwise patient, she has little tolerant for laziness, incompetence and indiscipline. (You can't slack off if you're working with/for her!) She can also be quite selfish and disregard of other people’s feeling when it concerns her own happiness, even if you're her friends or family members. Quite cares about her look, she almost can’t walk pass a mirror without checking herself out. Enjoys good company, she can be called a sociable person (spiderson?), but she will not go out of her way to make friend with you if you don’t show interest. She respects others’s personal spaces, and expects you to do the same for her. Generally she is a straight-forward and dependable one, though can come off as haughty and sharp-tongued at times, especially when something or someone gets on her nerves. 


Powers and Abilities:

Powers:

+ Web-making: She can produce silk from her spinneret glands located at the tip of their abdomen. Each gland produces a thread for a special purpose – such as sticky silk for trapping people or strong silk for tying up people. Like Darwin's bark spiders, her silk can be more than 10 times stronger than Kevlar. If she makes a vest out of it, it probably can stop bullets.

+ Venom: She has special fangs located inside her mouth, ready to bite you when needed. The poison is similar to Brazilian wandering spider's: can cause intense pain, unwanted erections and death.

+ Regeneration: If she lost a leg or two she can re-grow them, but it could take a month or so for them to grow back (she will have to molt, too).

+ Vision: Her smaller pair of eye can see ultraviolet light (her larger pair of eyes, on the other hand, is similar to human eyes). The world must look strange through her eyes.

+ Vibration-sensitiveness: With thousands of strain sensors embedded in her exoskeleton, she can detect the quietest movements and air flow shifts. It's hard to slip past her without her noticing, unless you're something that doesn't change the air flow while moving (which probably means you aren't made up of matter, so you must be ghosts or something).


Skills and strengths:

+ She is more of a tactician than a warrior. Give her some time to study a location like a warehouse or something and she can turn it into a deadly battleground with hidden traps only she remembers. She's also good as spotting people's strengths and weaknesses.

+ She was trained in sword-fighting, archery, her kind's equivalent of horse-riding (they ride a giant rhino beetle-like creature instead) and some sort of... aranean's martial art since young (in case war breaks out, and well, it's a tradition to learn about that in high class families of Aranealum).


Weaknesses:

+ Again, she can't swim.

+ If deep bodies of water aren’t available. Anything that is great for killing flesh and blood is is great for killing her too.

+ You should aim for her human part if you wish to damage her easier (her heart and lungs have the same positions as human’s, if you want to know). Note that it’s not easy to sweep her leg, unless you can precisely cut off her feet or joints.

+ She is not the best in close combat. She is more of a trapper and ranger type.

+ Her silk is one of her greatest gadgets (if not the greatest), but since silk is made from protein, there is a limit of how much silk she can make before she feels hungry and tired. It also takes time to set up.

+ Her venom run out really fast and kinda too deadly so she only use it in emergencies.
